When I was a kid back in the ’60s and early ’70s, there were a series of small flying scale models that were advertised in “Flying Models” known as The Fantasy Flyers Backyard Microflyers. These consisted of a model in profile scale sold as a printwood balsa model. I had and still have a number of these and have fond memories of flying them. Models of all eras were represented from World War1 to the present. Sadly these kits are no longer available.
Steve Bucher Flying Models is attempting to pick up where these stopped, however instead of one model on print wood our offering is in digital format. The advantages to this format are many for the designers/sellers and the modelers. The sellers for example don’t have to stock a product allowing us to sell at cheaper prices. For the modelers you get the model in a format allowing you to print multiple models and print on a variety of media including paper, depron foam and even balsa if you prefer.
The home computer and the drawing and illustration software available to us today present some very interesting possibilities for the cottage industry flying model company that were unthinkable 20 or 30 years ago.
All the models presented here are flight tested by myself before they are offered for sale and are designed to be printed on regular copier paper but as stated above they can also be printed on other media.
We will be adding new kits as the come of the line so please check in often and feel free to drop us an e-mail.
Thanks for looking…
